Jeanette Davis grew up in Cleveland, Ohio as a competitive dancer placing both regionally and nationally. While an undergrad at Bowling Green State University, she danced as a member of the BGSU Dance Team, was President of the BGSU Dance Cub, was selected to perform in the University Dance Alliance, and trained under Colleen Murphy in the university's dance program.
Jeanette moved to Charleston in 2009 and instantly connected with the dance scene. She worked as an Assistant Director at a youth studio, co-directing the competition team and training and choreographing for the competitive, performance, and recreational programs. She has guest taught at various studios in the surrounding Charleston area, as well as Wando High School's Dance Department and Charleston County School of the Arts. Jeanette continued her love of performing from 2009-2015, casted as a principal dancer for The Charleston Dance Project, a professional contemporary jazz performance company. 2015-present, she dances as a member of The Movement Union, a modern contemporary dance ensemble directed by Sara Sumner.
Excited to continue contributing to Charleston's ever-growing art culture, Jeanette strives to bring edgy movement and boundary-pushing creative to her students, while inspiring their own artistic voice.
