STUDIO RULES + PROTOCOLS

Dress Code

Dancers cannot participate in class if they are not dressed appropriately. No necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, or dangly earrings are permitted in classes.

  • Ballet: Girls - Pink tights, leotard, ballet skirt (optional), pink ballet slippers, hair must be in a secured bun 
    Boys - Black leggings, white well fitted top, black ballet slippers

  • Hip Hop: Athletic clothes that are easy to move in, clean tennis shoes (please do not wear them outside and then into the studio), and hair must be pulled back and off face

  • Jazz, Technique & Conditioning: Tight fitting dancewear, jazz shoes for 1st-8th grade (no shoes for 9th-12th or Pre Pro), hair pulled back securely off face

  • Contemporary/Lyrical: Tight fitting dancewear, half-shoes for for 1st-8th grade (no shoes for 9th-12th or Pre Pro), hair pulled back off face

  • Acro/Tumbling: Tight fitting dancewear, no shoes, hair pulled back securely

  • Tap: Athletic clothes that are easy to move in, all black tap shoes (hard sole for 1st-5th and Beg/Int level, Jason Samual Smith shoes for Pre Pro and Adv level), hair pulled off face

  • Modern & Style: tight fitting dancewear, no shoes or dance socks (Apolla or the like), hair pulled back off face

Ages/Grades for Class Divisions

Ruffles - 2-3
Tiny Tots - 4-5
1st-2nd Grade
3rd-5th Grade
6th-8th Grade / Middle School
9th-12th Grade / High School
*All Ruffles + Tots must be bathroom independent.


Attendance

Dancers must attend 75% of classes per month to remain enrolled in the class and be eligible for the end of the season show. Students are authorized and encouraged to make-up classes by attending other available classes in their level, or a level down. CEDC does not prorate tuition or offer refunds due to missed classes. Please contact info@creativeedgedancecenter.com with any questions about make-up opportunities for your dancer.


Before + After Class

No students are permitted to wait outside of the studio before or after classes without their parent or ride present. Rides must be on time due to capacity restrictions for each class.


Other Notes

  • if your dancer feels sick please stay home!

  • parents are not permitted inside the dance studios beyond the lobby

  • dancers should bring ONLY dance shoes, water bottle, a cellphone/keys (if applicable), in a small bag if needed

  • no food or beverage other than water allowed; Water only! Water fountains are available for refills!

  • please use the restroom before or after class to avoid having to be dismissed from class

  • rides must be prompt and on time as to not over crowd the studio and lobby

    Releases

    Liability Release:

Client understands that there are risks of physical injury associated with, arising out of and inherent to the activity of dance. In recognition of this acknowledged risk of injury, Client knowingly and voluntarily waives all right and/or causes of action of any kind, including any and all claims of negligence arising as a result of such activity from which liability could accrue to Creative Edge Dance Center (CEDC), its faculty, agents, employees, guest instructors, and all affiliated entities. Client hereby agrees to release CEDC and hold CEDC harmless of all liability, and hereby acknowledge that Client knowingly and voluntarily assumes full responsibility for all risks of physical injury arising out of active participation in dance on behalf of the participant. Client and student are aware that this is a release of liability and an acknowledgement of a voluntary and knowing assumption of the risk of injury. All students are required to be covered by their own insurance policies. If injury occurs, it is understood that the student’s own policy is Client’s only source of reimbursement.

Media Release:

Client gives CEDC permission to use student’s picture in or on any form of advertisement for CEDC or a CEDC affiliated event.
